The CNIC is dedicated to maintaining and advancing Canada’s position as a global leader in the production of nuclear isotopes through policy work, value-added business services, and engagement at the domestic and international level.
The Canadian Medical Isotope Ecosystem (CMIE) is a national initiative dedicated to strengthening the Canadian medical isotope sector through industry collaboration, technology adoption, and training. In addition, the CMIE Development Fund, drawing funds from the $35M in funding awarded by Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada’s Strategic Innovation Fund in 2023, supports Canadian projects that advance medical isotope supply and develop emerging technologies in radiotherapeutics and diagnostics.
